Carrot Purple Haze
Unbeatably versatile! Carrot was originally purple when it was grown in Asia and the Middle East, before the orange strain was discovered in Europe. The purple carrot has regained popularity in recent years for its high antioxidant content, and it has been hailed as one of nature’s super foods.
How To Grow | Sow direct where they are to grow into a well prepared bed. Sow thinly in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Cover lightly with 5mm (1/4in) of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear in 10-21 days. When harvesting select young carrots evenly from the rows, allowing the remainder to develop fully. Keep well-watered and weed free. |
